What each workspace does
Overview
Dashboard with key metrics: active customers, jobs, contracted revenue, and total billed. Quick links to common actions.
Operations
Manage your customers, jobs, and employees. Create jobs, set billing model (T&M or fixed bid), capture labor and material line items, manage internal references and file attachments, and assign employees to jobs.
- Customers — create and edit customer records, view associated jobs.
- Jobs — create and track jobs through their lifecycle (Pending → Planning → In Progress → Complete).
- Employees — manage employee records and pay schedules.
- Line items — capture labor (hours × rate) and materials (quantity × rate) against a job. These flow directly into invoice drafts.
Financials
Financial reporting and billing. Select a job from the grid to review burn rate, margin health, and variance breakdown. Move invoices through Draft → Approved → Sent → Paid.
- Summary tab — job financial grid with margin and invoice status; click a job to see its detailed breakdown.
- Invoicing tab — create draft invoices, approve and send them, record partial or full payments.
- AR Aging tab — outstanding receivables broken down by aging buckets.
- Jobs must be marked Complete before an invoice can be created.
Analytics
Data visualizations across the portfolio.
- Cash flow — projected money in/out over time with a cumulative net line.
- Pipeline — kanban view of all jobs by status with responsive density (cards → compact → chips).
- Profitability — profit vs. collection risk scatter matrix.
- Lifecycle — average days in each job stage, invoice status mix, weekly transitions, recent status changes.
Time entry
For employees: log hours against jobs you are assigned to. Each entry becomes a labor line item on the job. Supervisors can also access this view to log time on behalf of others.
Administration
Owner-only. Create user accounts, assign roles, link users to employee records, and manage access. Each user logs in with their email address and password.
